A perfect-bound second-hand copy of Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens, re-covered in a traditional 1/2 bound style using second-hand maroon leather over faux raised bands and vintage hand-marbled paper chosen for its resemblance to Victorian ledgers and notebooks. The end papers feature an 1860 map of London, evoking the streets Oliver finds his home in. The label on the front references the fictional workhouse where Oliver was born, and its style was directly inspired by historical handwritten labels from the period.
The spine has been lined with vintage marbled paper and inscribed with the year of (re) binding and a quote from Oliver Twist: “I have not made a coffin of my heart.”
NB: Due to the second hand nature of the main text block and the leather, these will show signs of age.
