Book your own class in Anachronalia’s Leeds workshop for 1-6 attendees!
Prices start at £30 for 1 hr of 121 tuition, bespoke classes will vary depending on what you are looking to learn and materials. Email for further details and available dates.
Drop-In Sessions in The Anachronalia Bindery. For family health reasons, I have temporarily suspended the regular Wednesday drop-in sessions in the bindery. However, it is possible to book 121 sessions or informal self-led use of the bindery at £10 a session for use of the equipment, please contact me if you would like to book one-off bindery time to confirm a suitable time.
2025 Classes and Events. (updated regularly) Classes are organised with a variety of different venues and may be released at different time scales, so this is not a definitive list for the whole year. New dates may be added at any time.
Thursday 1st May 5:00-6:30 – Bind and Unwind – Bookbinding Meet-up – Monthly informal meetup (not a class though bringing things to work on is encouraged) – come meet other people interested in bookbinding and related activities, or just to ask questions you might have about bookbinding in an informal setting. Next Chapter Books, The Corn Exchange, Leeds (on the lower floor – lift available). May is my birthday month so I will be bringing some books on different structures and some paper to play with.
Saturday 26th April. 12:30-3:30 Heritage Craft Room Launch – Free Drop-in Leather bookmark session. Bradford Industrial Museum. Suitable for most ages.
TBC: Thursday 26th June 10-4pm Single Section Pamphlets create your own set of single section bindings taking you through basic bookbinding techniques. Bradford.
Wednesday 9th July 10:30-19:00- Thursday 10th July 10:20 – 18:00: International Medieval Congress Craft Fair and Making Leeds Medieval. Leeds University Campus.
TBC: Saturday 16th August 11am-13:00 Re-usable pocket book class. Bradford
TBC: Saturday 6th September 11am-14:30 Traveller’s Leather notebook. Make your own nag-hammadi inspired notebook. Bradford.
Saturday 13th September – Leeds Open Studios – My studio in Fabrication2 will be open to visitors. Further event details TBC
Saturday 11th October – Garden Pocket Book Class. Breezy Knees Gardens, Common Lane, Warthill, North Yorkshire,England YO19 5XS. Make your own pocket sized pamphlet notebook. Suitable for complete beginners. 14+
TBC: Saturday 25th October – Bind Your Own Ghostly Stories – joint bookbinding and story writing class. Pickering.
Sat 1/8/15/22/29 November – In depth Medieval Wooden Boarded Binding – The Leeds Library, 18 Commercial Street, Leeds, LS1 6AL. An in-depth binding course looking at all the stages of wooden boarded bindings sewn on cords or thongs. Best suited to those who have already done some binding or have relevant other craft experience. Ages 18+.
