A brand new copy of Beowulf, typeset by D. Walker in old English to resemble the original, but bound as a stand-alone text.
The pages are inkjet printed on parchment-effect paper. Bound on cords and with hand sewn headbands of Lincoln green, hand-dyed, linen thread by Mulberry Dyer. The boards are UK grown oak, hand cut and shaped by FiftyEleven before being chiselled and shaped by me to fit the cords and strap. Covered in vegtan calf, hand dyed green to create an effect reminiscent of wet undergrowth, and finished using blind tooling and a hand-made clasp.
The book is roughly 14 cms in height.
While further copies of Beowulf may be printed and bound, each design will be unique and not repeated.
