Description
A perfect-bound second-hand copy of Frankenstein or The Modern Prometheus by Mary Shelley, re-covered in a traditional 1/2 bound style using soft blue leather over faux raised bands and vintage hand-marbled paper chosen for its resemblance to ice floes and cells under a microscope. The end papers are a lovely cream paper featuring hand-written text to evoke both Mary Shelley’s writing of it in Switzerland but also the framing of the novel as a letter written to Mrs Saville.
The spine has been lined with vintage marbled paper and inscribed with the year of (re) binding and a quote from Frankenstein: “Beware, for I am fearless and therefore powerful.”
NB: Due to the second hand nature of the main text the paper of the text block will show signs of age.
