A wooden-boarded velvet-covered sketchbook bound to resemble a medieval tome using period appropriate methods.

Description

A unique hand-bound velvet sketchbook in a medieval style.

The pages are handmade rag paper. Bound on cords and with hand sewn headbands using hand-dyed, linen thread by Mulberry Dyer. The boards are UK grown oak, hand cut and shaped by FiftyEleven before being chiselled and shaped by me to fit the cords and strap. Covered in cotton velvet, and finished with four hand-made clasps of leather and brass. Each clasp also has a finger-braided cord attached for ease of opening and closing.

The book is roughly 21.5 by 13 cms in size.
